What is Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a systematic approach to medicine that covers the whole body, not just the spine, as is often believed. Osteopathy is a way of detecting and treating damaged parts of the body such as muscles, ligaments, nerves and joints.
- Osteopaths are primary care practitioners who see all patients as individuals.

FAQs
Have Any Question?
What do Osteopaths treat?
Osteopathy focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal orders, without drugs or surgery. Commonly treated conditions included back pain, neck pain, postural problems, sporting injuries, muscle and joint degeneration, restricts mobility. .
Do I need a GP referral to see an Osteopath?
No. We are primary care practitioners. However, we encourage patients to let their GP know they are having treatment. .
Can I claim on my medical insurance?
Many health insurance policies provide cover for Osteopathic treatment. You should check with your health insurance company prior to treatment. I presently deal directly with BUPA. All other patients with policies pay me for treatment then submit their receipts to their insurers for reimbursment. .
How many Treatments will I need?
The Principle behind Osteopathy is “find it fix it and leave it alone”. Osteopathy really does work because it treats the whole body. A lot of patients who I see for acute pain, e.g a sudden onset of a stiff neck or back, only need one or two treatments. Regular patients want maintenance treatment every 6-8 weeks. This is because they appreciate preventing what may have caused a sudden episode of back pain. .
